Arco do Cavaco

Diver with grouper

Cavaco is the Portuguese name for the unique slipper lobster. This dive site oscillates between 5 and 20 meters depth and is formed by several rocks of volcanic origin. These formations create multiple arches of different sizes and heights, offering divers a unique scenery to explore on their adventures. One of it’s typical inhabitants is… you guessed it. The cavaco, hence the name of the site. Here you can also find other species such as groupers, kingfish, stingrays, damselfish, scorpionfish, moray eels, among other species.
